The Key Benefits of the BP2700
Wireless Stacking – Wireless Installation in Minutes
The BP2700 simply stacks onto the main unit. The electrical connection is established automatically via built-in pin contacts—no electrician is needed just to dock the auxiliary battery. If your base unit isn’t connected yet, a qualified electrician is still required for that. The stacking system is designed so that the modules sit securely and stably on top of one another, even in wind and weather on the balcony or patio.
Scalable storage expansion up to 16 kWh
Those who want greater self-sufficiency can combine up to five BP2700 units to achieve a total storage capacity of up to 16 kWh. This ensures that the storage system provides significantly extended self-sufficiency even during periods of low sunlight. It is a worthwhile investment, especially for households with higher electricity consumption or as a supplement to a larger PV system.
LFP Cell Technology – Safe and Durable
LiFePO4 cells are among the safest lithium technologies available (LiFePO4): They are thermally stable, non-flammable, and can withstand deep discharges without permanent damage. With over 6,000 guaranteed charge cycles, they offer a service life of about 15 years with daily use—a clear advantage over NMC batteries.
IP65 – suitable for outdoor use on balconies, patios, and in gardens
The BP2700 is completely dustproof and protected against water jets. It can withstand temperatures ranging from −20 °C to +55 °C, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation—even during a German winter, it’s no problem.
Centralized Management via the Anker App
The charge level, temperature, and energy flow of all connected BP2700 modules are automatically transmitted to the Anker app via the main unit. You can see at a glance how much energy is stored and when the storage unit is full—all on your smartphone.

Who the BP2700 Is Suitable For
If you’re already using a Solarbank 2 or Solarbank 3 Pro and would like to use more of the solar power generated during the day in the evening or at night, you’ll benefit from an additional BP2700. On sunny days, the system often generates more electricity than the household is currently using; without additional storage, this surplus goes into the grid instead of being used for your own consumption. An additional BP2700 module increases the storage capacity for this purpose.
This is especially true for households with higher energy consumption: If you notice that your existing storage system is already full by early afternoon on sunny days, you can use one or more additional modules to consume more of the energy you generate yourself.
Installation in Three Steps
- Positioning: Place the BP2700 on a level, stable surface near the existing solar panel mount.
- Stacking: Place the module on top of the main unit. The connection is made via built-in pin contacts, without any additional cables.
- Check: Open the Anker app to see if the new module has been detected and if the total capacity has increased accordingly.
You do not need a licensed electrician to connect an additional memory module to a system that is already connected. However, if you are connecting the base unit for the first time, a licensed electrician is still required.
Shipping and Delivery
Because it contains LiFePO4 cells, the BP2700 is classified as a hazardous material and is shipped free of charge via DPD. Delivery typically takes 1–3 business days.
Compatibility – An Important Consideration Before Purchasing
The BP2700 is a passive expansion unit without its own inverter. It operates exclusively in combination with a SOLIX main unit:
- Anker SOLIX Solarbank 3 Pro (E2700) – Recommended Combination
- Anker SOLIX Solarbank 2 Pro / Solarbank 2
Not compatible with the original Solarbank E1600 (first generation) or products from other manufacturers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which SolarBank models is the BP2700 compatible with?
The BP2700 is compatible with the Anker SOLIX Solarbank 2, Solarbank 3, and Solarbank 4. It is not compatible with the original Solarbank 1 (E1600). Some retailers ambiguously refer to the Solarbank 2 as “Solarbank 2 E1600” in product titles: This refers to the Solarbank 2 series, not the older E1600 Solarbank.
What is the maximum number of BP2700 modules I can combine?
Up to five BP2700 modules can be combined with a Solarbank 3 Pro (E2700), resulting in a total capacity of up to 16 kWh. The optimal number of modules depends on actual electricity consumption and the size of the solar system.
What are the capacity and technical specifications of a BP2700 module?
One module delivers 2,688 Wh (approximately 2.7 kWh). Additional key specifications: rated voltage 25.6 V DC, rated power 1,800 W, maximum charging current 70 A DC, maximum discharging current 75 A DC.
Is the BP2700 suitable for outdoor use and weather-resistant?
Yes. The housing has an IP65 rating (dust- and water-jet-proof) and is designed for temperatures ranging from -20°C to 55°C, making it suitable for permanent installation on a balcony, on a building facade, or in the garden.
What is the difference between the BP2700 and the older BP1600?
The BP1600 is the expansion battery for the Solarbank 2 and is no longer available at mysolarplant.de. It is not part of the original Solarbank 1 (E1600), which cannot be expanded at all. The BP2700 is the successor model with a higher capacity per module (2,688 Wh) and is compatible with Solarbank 2, 3, and 4.
How durable is the BP2700?
Anker specifies up to 6,000 charge cycles and a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. This is based on LiFePO4 cell chemistry, which is known for its high cycle stability compared to other lithium technologies.
Does the BP2700 require its own inverter or a grid connection?
No. The BP2700 does not have its own inverter or grid connection; it is purely an expansion unit and operates in conjunction with the connected solar bank, which serves as the control unit.
Do I need a licensed electrician to install a BP2700?
Generally speaking, no: The BP2700 simply plugs into the compatible solar bench; you don't need a licensed electrician to do this.
How do I connect the BP2700 to an existing solar array?
The BP2700 is stacked mechanically onto the main unit and connected via built-in pin contacts; no additional cabling is required. The package includes a locking kit for a secure connection and a wall-mounting kit. Once docked, the Anker app automatically recognizes the new module.
