Can I operate the Solarbank 3 Pro in a way that prevents any power from being fed into the grid?
Yes. To do this, you'll need a compatible smart meter. In the Anker app, you can disable the feed-in option in the Solarbank settings so that no electricity is fed back into the public grid.
Which smart meters are compatible with the Solarbank 3 Pro?
According to Anker, the Anker Smart Meter, Shelly 3EM, and Shelly Pro 3EM are currently supported. Other smart meters cannot currently be connected to the Anker app.
How many solar panels can I connect to the Solarbank 3 Pro?
The Solarbank 3 Pro has four PV ports. Up to two modules can be connected in parallel to each PV port—for a total of up to eight modules.
Do I need Y-cables or other cables to connect more than four modules?
Yes, Y-cables are typically used for parallel connections if you want to run two modules per PV port. Important: According to Anker, the modules must not be connected in series, but only in parallel.
How can I use the Solarbank 3 Pro if I don't have any solar panels (yet)?
You can also use the SolarBank without PV and simply charge it via the power grid. The app offers modes such as “Time of Use”/schedule to control charging times.
Can I use household appliances connected to the off-grid output while the solar array is connected to the utility grid?
Yes. When the SolarBank is connected to the home’s electrical system via the outlet, it delivers up to 800 W of power from solar energy and the battery. You can power devices up to 2000 W through the off-grid output—any power above 800 W is automatically supplemented by the grid.
Does the Solarbank 3 Pro also function as an emergency power solution during a power outage?
Yes. According to Anker, during a power outage, the off-grid output provides up to 1,200 W; the on-grid output does not function. When the sun is shining, the PV modules can continue to power devices or support the battery.
Can I run the Solarbank 3 Pro on a three-phase 380/400-V connection?
No. According to Anker, the Solarbank 3 E2700 Pro supports only a single-phase connection (240 V) and is not designed for direct operation on a three-phase 380-V system.
